The RI-Hubs project aims to create and consolidate regional hubs in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) in collaboration with the European Union (EU), establishing a synchronized dynamic between Research Infrastructures (RI) in LAC and the EU. The project brings together eight partners in Brazil, Peru, Uruguay, Spain, Italy and Portugal, who share values of scientific excellence and commitment to the provision of open access research infrastructure to users. As part of this project, we are organising a series of seminars on the topics of Data Management, Science Diplomacy, and Facility Management with speakers from Latin America and Europe.
The third session will focus on Scientific Diplomacy:
- Success stories of scientific diplomacy initiatives/Case studies of successful regional or global partnerships
- Examples of bilateral or multilateral collaborations driven by research infrastructures.
- Challenges and opportunities in scientific diplomacy between Europe and LAC.
- Strategies for balancing national priorities with global scientific goals.
- Promoting inclusion and equity in international research collaborations
- The role of scientific networks and consortia in advancing global cooperation/ The role of shared facilities in fostering international cooperation.
This session will feature Soledad Quiroz, Vice-president International Network for Government Science Advice (INGSA) from Chile and Isabel Díaz, vice President of CSIC for Internationalization as our distinguished speakers, with Jose Maria Carazo (CSIC) serving as the moderator.
