RESEARCH CENTER

CNRMN has experience in Structural Biology in solution. Was a pioneer in NMR of proteins in Brazil. Has extensive experience in training human resources.

CNRMN is also part of a network of National Institutes of Science and Technology (INCTs), the INCT of Structural Biology and Bioimaging (INBEB).

In addition to the NMR Laboratory, INBEB has small animal bioimaging equipment (7 Tesla MRI, SPECT/PET-CT, bioluminescence, etc.) and equipment for electron microscopy, confocal microscopy, multiphoton microscopy, and force microscopy.

RESEARCH LINES

Its work field includes research on molecular mechanisms of virus-host interaction, behavior of defense proteins, molecular mechanisms of amyloidogenic diseases, the role of protein dynamics in protein-protein and protein-membrane interactions.

The main mission of INBEB is to consolidate a research network on structural biology, cell biology, and tissue biology, focusing on the study of human diseases such as amyloidogenic diseases, cancer, viral and parasitic diseases, and degenerative diseases, where the use of new therapies such as cell therapy and the rational development of drugs and vaccines is necessary.
