Research center

The Center for Bionanoscience Research (CIBION), affiliated with the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET), is at the forefront of developing innovative bioanalytical tools for cellular and molecular biology, drug design, diagnostics and bioimaging.

CIBION's mission is to develop nanoscale visualization and analysis methods to address critical challenges in life and health sciences through strategic partnerships with industry and research institutions. In addition to its research endeavors, CIBION is committed to training highly skilled professionals for the scientific system and high-tech industries.

CIBION counts 10 permanent researchers with expertise on a wide range physical and chemical disciplines, and a robust support team of professionals, technicians, administrators. Around 40 young researchers are involved in research projects through doctoral and postdoctoral fellowships, as well as undergraduate internships, contributing to a dynamic and interdisciplinary academic environment.

Research lines

As a multidisciplinary institute, CIBION has pursued diverse research lines, including nanoscale visualization of biological phenomena, structural biology and medicinal chemistry for understanding infectious and chronic diseases, advanced bioanalytics for healthcare and industry, and technology development for accessible microscopy and diagnostic tools.
